First wave of Art Basel Inside Talents announced

Meet the minds who are molding this immersive journey, from Loris Gréaud to Anissa Touati

Under the aegis of curator Marc-Olivier Wahler, Art Basel Inside has released an initial list of wide-ranging talents who will transport their specialties to Abu Dhabi for a three-day creative journey next February. From an artist-composer whose media have included fireflies and pigeons to a self-described “nasalnaut” venturing into the charged territory of scent and memory, these initial 15 artists, architects, curators, chefs, filmmakers, thinkers, and scientists attest to Wahler’s wish to explore how different intelligences can complement and catalyze each other. Working in collectives or as orchestrators of experiences, these collaborators are designing immersive itineraries in three separate ecosystems: Desert, Urban Monuments, and In and On the Water.

The program will feature 30+ artists and collaborators, 10+ site-specific commissioned installations and performances, as well as intimate conversations. A sampling of the artists and experiences is below.
